Alexandria, La. (2/13/2026) — Free tax prep in Central Louisiana is now available through United Way of Central Louisiana’s 2026 VITA program.
United Way launched the service in partnership with Capital One, Zion Hill Church Family, and Entergy. As a result, qualifying residents can file their taxes at no cost.
The program serves individuals and families earning less than $60,000 annually. In 2025 alone, United Way saved residents $470,000 in tax preparation fees and refund dollars. Therefore, families kept more of their hard-earned money.
To schedule an appointment, residents should dial 2-1-1 and ask for the VITA Site Coordinator. Appointments take place at Zion Hill Church Family, located at 312 Hunter Street in Pineville. However, the site operates by appointment only and does not accept walk-ins.
Residents must bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID. They also need Social Security cards for themselves and all dependents. Additionally, they should provide income statements such as W-2s or 1099s. Direct deposit details, child tax credit information, and childcare expense records are also required.
Meanwhile, community members can support the effort by volunteering. Those interested in VITA volunteer opportunities can visit https://tinyurl.com/uwclvolunteer.
United Way of Central Louisiana continues to strengthen education, financial stability, health, and resilience across the region. For more information, visit www.unitedwaycenla.org.
