Flight to Houston Forced to Make Emergency Landing in Waco

HOUSTON, Tx. (3/3/2025) – A flight to Houston forced to make an emergency landing in Waco Sunday night due to severe turbulence.

SkyWest Flight 5690, operating as United Express, safely landed at Waco Regional Airport. The flight departed from Springfield, Missouri, and was headed to George Bush Intercontinental Airport with 35 passengers.

Emergency personnel met passengers upon landing. Medical teams evaluated multiple people, and five were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

SkyWest and United Airlines stated they were working to arrange new transportation for affected travelers. However, it remains unclear if passengers were rebooked or provided alternative travel options.

The flight, originally scheduled to land at Bush Airport at 11:53 p.m. Sunday, instead arrived in Waco at 1:45 a.m. Monday. Officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the flight to Houston forced to make emergency landing.
