VERNON PARISH, La. (2/10/2025) – A Flatwoods man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Louisiana Highway 8 near Comrade Road on February 9, 2025.
Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to the crash at approximately 12:08 p.m.
Investigators determined that 64-year-old Joseph M. Antee was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson westbound. He failed to navigate a left-hand curve, left the roadway, and struck a driveway embankment. The impact ejected Antee from his motorcycle.
Antee suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests were collected for analysis. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
State police urge all motorcyclists to take a certified safety course. These programs teach safe riding techniques that can reduce crash risks.
