CHENEYVILLE, LA (6/7/2025) – A peaceful gathering in Cheneyville turned violent Friday night when gunfire erupted near the Cheneyville Town Hall, leaving five people wounded and four vehicles struck by bullets.
The shooting occurred at approximately 10:00 PM on June 6, 2025, and brought a swift response from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. Detectives and crime scene investigators recovered multiple shell casings from the scene, indicating the use of various calibers of firearms.
All five victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported at this time.
According to officials, deputies canvassed the area in search of security footage and witness statements. However, no video has been turned in and no witnesses have come forward.
