Evangeline Parish, La (4/7/2026) — Five public officials have been arrested following an investigation in Evangeline Parish.
In March 2026, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office requested a state investigation into allegations of malfeasance. The case centers on access to and sharing of protected information.
Detectives say the officials accessed government databases and shared sensitive information with a defendant in an active case. The information included details about alleged victims.
Ryan Leday Williams, 40, Mayor of Ville Platte, was booked April 7 at 2:54 p.m. by State Police. He is charged with malfeasance in office. His bond is set at $500.
Darrian Danielle Guillory, 33, a Sergeant with the Ville Platte Police Department, was booked April 7 at 1:00 p.m. She is charged with malfeasance in office. Her bond is set at $500.
Chasessica Basco, 41, a 911 Dispatch Supervisor in Evangeline Parish, was booked April 7 at 12:47 p.m. by State Police. She is charged with malfeasance in office and trespass against state computers. A bond amount was not listed.
Charles Patrick Hall, 53, Chief of Police in Mamou, was booked April 7 at 12:08 p.m. He is charged with malfeasance in office and trespass against state computers. His bond is set at $75,000.
Yolanda Lewis, a police officer with the Opelousas Police Department, was also arrested on charges of malfeasance in office and trespass against state computers. She was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
Four of the arrests were booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail. Lewis was booked in St. Landry Parish.
The Louisiana State Police is leading the investigation. The case remains active.
