Alexandria, La. (11/7/2022) – Sheriff Mark Wood released the following statement on the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.
“First, I would like to ask for our communities’ prayers for all those involved in the deputy-involved shooting we had yesterday. Two families’ lives will be forever impacted by this tragic event.
Secondly, I would ask our community to be patient and let Col. Lamar Davis and the investigators with the Louisiana State Police conduct a complete and thorough investigation of this incident. We have had deputy-involved shootings in the past, but due to this one being a fatality, I called Col. Davis and asked for their assistance. I feel confident in their ability to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, following the evidence wherever it takes them.
Again, please keep all those involved in your prayers.”
