Ferriday Man Arrested for Indecent Behavior with Juveniles

Ferriday, LA (July 1, 2024) – Timothy Downs, a 47-year-old resident of Ferriday, was arrested on charges of Indecent Behavior with Juveniles and Molestation of a Juvenile, both involving a victim under the age of 13.

The arrest followed an investigation initiated by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) Cyber Crime Unit on June 19, 2024.

The investigation began after allegations surfaced regarding lewd acts performed in the presence of a child at a residence in Ferriday. Last Friday, the victim provided detailed information about the incident to forensic interviewers at the Alexandria Child Advocacy Center. This crucial disclosure led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Downs, who was taken into custody the same day and booked into the CPSO jail.

The CPSO Cyber Crime Unit is handling the ongoing investigation. At this time, no further information can be released.

This case highlights the importance of the collaboration between law enforcement and child advocacy centers in protecting the welfare of children and bringing offenders to justice. Authorities urge anyone with additional information regarding this case or other similar incidents to contact the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
