Ferriday, LA (2/9/2024) – The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) Cyber Crime Unit received a concerning report on February 6th regarding an ongoing case of child sexual abuse spanning over a year.
Following the report, action was taken as the victim underwent an emergency forensic interview. The Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office was promptly notified due to the offenses occurring within their jurisdiction.
Upon their arrival at the CPSO, Tensas detectives faced a significant hurdle. Attempts to contact the child’s guardian were futile, as they had abandoned the child at the CPSO office and refused to cooperate further with the investigation. The guardian, along with another individual, divulged crucial case information to the suspect, prompting his attempt to flee and evade law enforcement.
Law enforcement gathered evidence, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants for Andrew Evans. With the assistance of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Evans was apprehended Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, limited information can be disclosed at this time.
