FBI Offers $100,000 Reward in Utah Valley University Shooting

Orem, Utah (9/11/2025) — The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the Utah Valley University shooting that killed Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025.

At a press conference Thursday, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls said investigators are working nonstop alongside local law enforcement partners. “We will relentlessly pursue this case until the shooter is in custody,” Bohls said. “Any attack on the First Amendment is an attack on the foundation of our democracy.”

Evidence Recovered

Investigators have recovered a high-powered bolt action rifle believed to be the weapon used in the Utah Valley University shooting. The rifle was found in a wooded area where the suspect fled.

Agents also collected footwear impressions, a palm print, and forearm imprints. All evidence has been submitted to the FBI Laboratory for analysis.

Bohls confirmed that more than 130 public tips have already been received and stressed that every lead is being investigated.

Person of Interest Photos Released

On the evening of September 11, the FBI released four new photos of a person of interest connected to the shooting. Authorities are asking the public to review the photos and help identify the individual.

How to Submit Information

The FBI urged the community to help move the investigation forward:

  • Submit photos or video of the shooting at fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting or call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
  • Submit information only at tips.fbi.gov.
  • Officials emphasized that no detail is too small.

Impact on Utah Valley University

The Utah Valley University shooting has deeply impacted the campus and surrounding community. UVU is one of the largest public universities in Utah with more than 40,000 students.

“We continue to grieve with the family of Charlie Kirk and this community. This is our community too,” Bohls said.

Ongoing Investigation

The FBI has not released a motive but confirmed that all leads are being pursued. The agency has committed full resources until the shooter is identified and taken into custody.

UrbanCast will continue to follow this investigation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
