Caddo Parish, LA (06/16/2024) – In the early hours of June 16, Caddo Sheriff’s deputies responded to a major crash at the intersection of North Market Street and McDaniel Drive.
The incident involved a stolen 2005 Toyota Camry, which had overturned at the scene, resulting in multiple injuries and three fatalities.
The crash occurred around 2:20 AM. Upon arrival, deputies found the overturned vehicle and discovered that three individuals had sustained fatal injuries. Three others, who were seriously injured, were taken to Ochsner Medical Center. Two of these individuals were transported by Caddo Fire District No.1, while a medic unit from North Caddo Medical Center transported the third.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the stolen Camry was speeding south on North Market Street when it veered off the road, struck two curbs, collided with a tree, and overturned, coming to rest upside down on McDaniel Drive. Some of the occupants, who were unrestrained, were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Additionally, a stolen gun was recovered from the scene.
The Caddo Sheriff’s Office and the Caddo Parish Coroner are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
