Alexandria, Louisiana – Residents, property managers, real estate agents, and zoning board commissioners are invited to attend a free Fair Housing Seminar on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at Convention Hall, located at 915 Third Street.
The seminar, titled “The Fair Housing Act: Understanding its Impact on Our Communities,” will delve into various aspects of fair housing legislation and its implications for both tenants and property owners. Topics to be covered include the Fair Housing Act itself, the importance of fair housing, protected classes, covered transactions and dwellings, harassment prevention, considerations for people with disabilities, and the application of the FHA to the housing industry, including property rentals, sales, management, lending, and insurance.
The event aims to educate attendees on their rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act, as well as how to navigate fair housing laws in various housing-related professions. Zoning board commissioners, real estate agents, property managers, landlords, and tenants alike will find valuable information and insights to enhance their understanding of fair housing practices.
