Join us for a day filled with joy, unity, and love as we commemorate the ancient festival of colors as we also support a great cause. Originating 3000 years ago in Northern India, Holi is more than just a festival — it’s a celebration of unity and traditionally marksthe triumph of good over evil and is a celebration to welcome the Spring. Taking place in India, Nepal, and other countries around the world, festival goers drench themselves in a kaleidoscope of reds, blues, yellows, and greens, laughter, dancing, and singing fill the streets, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
“It is a celebration of unity, equality, and love,” says Amy Pillarisetti, Holi Fest coordinator and Cenla India Association representative.
This year’s festivities include the annual Color Walk/Run to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Network, supporting abused and neglected children in Central Louisiana for over 25 years.
“Every step you take helps provide advocacy and therapy to ensure these children find safety and a permanent home,” says Pillarisetti.
Highlights of the event include:
- A Color Walk/Run benefitting the Children’s Advocacy Network
- Live music and dance performances
- Kids’ activities including chalk art and crafts
- Delicious Indian cuisine
- Custom T-shirts designed by Ugly Mug Marketing
- An unforgettable experience in downtown Alexandria
This is the only event where colors are free and fun is abundant for adults and children of all ages. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of Holi Fest while supporting a worthy cause.
