Alexandria, LA (11/28/2025) – The Alexandria Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving an electric scooter early Friday morning. The crash happened around 6:26 AM at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Coliseum Boulevard.
Officers said the operator of the electric scooter, 43-year-old Donald Ray Dotson Jr., suffered serious injuries. Medical staff transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.
Investigators conducted routine toxicology tests as part of standard procedure. However, early results indicate that impairment did not contribute to the crash.
