Alexandria, LA (6/20/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is investigating a double homicide that occurred late Wednesday night in the 2000 block of Simmons Street. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:53 PM on June 19, 2024.
Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin. APD has not released any details regarding the motive, suspect(s), or the ages and sexes of the victims.
This tragic incident follows a string of violent events in Alexandria over the past few days. On Sunday, three people were shot on Father’s Day in separate incidents, and on Tuesday, Ty’rez “K6” Gold was murdered on Overton Street.
