Developing: Two Alexandria Men Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder

Alexandria, LA (April 21, 2024) – Local authorities arrested two Alexandria men suspected of attempted second-degree murder on Saturday.

According to records from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office inmate inquiry system, the suspects have been identified as Cartavis Kerrion Austin, 23, and Bernard Ellis III, 18.

Cartavis Kerrion Austin was taken into custody and booked into the Rapides Detention Center #3 on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 6:25 am. Austin faces a series of charges, including criminal conspiracy, illegal use of weapons/dangerous instrumentalities, and attempted second-degree murder. His bond is currently set at $360,000.

Similarly, Bernard Ellis III, 18, of Alexandria, Louisiana, was also apprehended and booked into the Rapides Detention Center #3 on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2:43 am. Ellis faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, obstruction of justice – evidence tampering, illegal carry of a firearm with illegal drugs, and possession of CDS 1. As of now, his bond has not been determined.
