As The News Circulated
As the news circulated, parents raised concerns not only about the shooting itself but also about communication and transparency regarding safety at Bolton Academy. Many parents commented on UrbanCast noting that the school had not issued any notification about today’s incident.
Several also referenced an event before Thanksgiving in which a man allegedly approached the school gate during outdoor activity and threatened to shoot students. Parents report that no notification or lockdown message was sent to families at that time.
One parent wrote, “The fact that the school hasn’t sent out an email or notified parents in any way is ridiculous. They still haven’t said anything to the parents about when they went on lockdown before Thanksgiving because a man came up to the gate while students were outside and threatened to shoot them.”
Another parent shared, “My son was one of the students who was threatened by that man at PE. With this news, I really wish we had more security for the school just because of the location. We love Bolton so far. Just want the students safe.”
A third parent added, “I love the teachers, just wish there was clear transparency when it comes to safety issues and parents being notified.”
UrbanCast will continue to follow this developing story and will update the community immediately when new information becomes available.
