ALEXANDRIA, La. (1/16/2024) – Community complaints about drug activity resulted in the arrest of Russell Paul Marceaux, 46 of Alexandria for methamphetamine distribution in Rapides Parish.
In early January 2025, the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit received anonymous tips alleging Marceaux was selling methamphetamine from his room at a local motel. Agents confirmed Marceaux’s residency at the motel and, through their investigation, determined he was storing and distributing narcotics.
On January 9, 2025, RADE agents executed a search warrant at Marceaux’s motel room. They seized over ¼ pound of methamphetamine, ½ ounce of marijuana, and items commonly used for narcotics distribution.
Marceaux was arrested without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on charges of Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS I (Marijuana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on January 11, 2025, after posting a $12,500 bond.
The RADE Unit is a multi-agency team targeting narcotics trafficking in Central Louisiana. Anyone with information about narcotics activity can report it through the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Facebook page at facebook.com/RADEunit.
