COLFAX, La. (2/22/2025) – Colfax Police arrest Edward Dwayne Vaughn, 42, of Colfax, Louisiana, following an investigation into allegations of sexual battery and first-degree rape.
Authorities apprehended Vaughn after securing a warrant based on evidence gathered by law enforcement and forensic specialists.
The charges stem from an incident reported on February 13, 2025, when a juvenile victim disclosed details of the alleged assault. The victim provided statements to law enforcement, and forensic interviews confirmed the credibility of the accusations. Investigators collected evidence, including clothing from the night of the incident, and conducted a forensic examination at a local hospital.
Vaughn was taken into custody without incident. His bond has been set at $500,000. Authorities continue to process evidence and encourage any additional witnesses to come forward.
