Alexandria, LA (9/6/2024) – September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Rapides Parish Library is joining libraries nationwide in encouraging residents to get a library card.
Throughout the month, the library will highlight the many resources available to cardholders, from borrowing books to accessing eBooks, WiFi hotspots, and even zoo passes.
Signing up for a library card is simple, free, and comes with exciting rewards. New and renewing cardholders will receive a special prize and be entered into a drawing for larger prizes. With a library card, you can access over two million print books, DVDs, and CDs, along with more than 65,000 eBooks and eAudio books.
Director Celise Reech-Harper emphasized the vast value of a library card, stating, “It’s not just about books; a library card opens up endless opportunities to improve your skills and connect with your community.”
Residents of Rapides and surrounding parishes are eligible to register for a card. This National Library Card Sign-Up Month is the perfect time to explore the resources available at your local library branch.
