Washington, DC 11/11/2024) – Caroline Dormon Junior High received the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., last Friday.
Administrators Jennifer Bordelon and Sarah Butler, along with Acting Middle School Director Mollie Fontenot, accepted the honor on behalf of the school.
This recognition celebrates schools for academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps. Caroline Dormon Junior High is one of only seven schools in Louisiana to earn the distinction this year. Nationwide, just 356 schools received this prestigious award.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, established in 1982, highlights the collaborative efforts of educators, families, and communities. It acknowledges their work in creating welcoming environments where students achieve academic success.
Principal Jennifer Bordelon expressed pride in the school’s achievement, saying, “It is an incredible privilege and honor for myself and every member of the CDJH family to receive this award. This recognition highlights the dedication of students, teachers, parents, and community members who strive every day to create a safe and thriving educational environment.”
