Deville, LA (9/10/2024) – According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Rapides Parish School Board (RPSB) is currently working on a press release regarding a potential threat to Buckeye High School.
The school was placed on a soft lockdown this morning after a social media post, flagged as a possible threat, was reported to the school’s resource officer.
Multiple parents have shared a letter with UrbanCast that appears to have been sent by a school official, notifying families of the lockdown. However, at this time, RPSB has not publicly released any information regarding the nature or credibility of the alleged threat.
Law enforcement is actively investigating, and the school is following district safety protocols, including heightened security measures, until further notice. Officials have promised timely updates as the situation develops.
