BASTROP, LA (June 23, 2024) – The Bastrop Police Department (BPD) confirmed this evening that the body of a baby was found in a wooded area near Daisy Street and Vesta Street.
According to BPD, they received a call from the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office around 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 23rd,regarding the discovery of human remains.
The scene was secured and processed by investigators. The body was transported for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
BPD officials have not released any further details about the baby or the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
