Ville Platte, LA – A Baton Rouge man has been charged with murder in connection with the disappearance and death of Keabreonna “KeKe” Doucet.
On December 11, 2024, the Ville Platte Police Department arrested 52-year-old Elrick Gallow for second-degree murder.
Doucet, 27, was reported missing on June 16, 2024, a day after she was last seen. She was scheduled to take her daughter to a basketball game but never arrived. Ville Platte Police Department detectives, with assistance from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police, identified Gallow as a person of interest early in the investigation.
Authorities later gathered evidence that led to an arrest warrant, which Judge Chuck West approved. Gallow remains in custody without bond. Police Chief A. Perry Thomas credited Sergeant Darrian Guillory for her persistent efforts to obtain justice for Doucet.
“KeKe’s family deserves closure, and we hope this arrest is a step in that direction,” Chief Thomas said in a press release.
Doucet’s disappearance shocked the Ville Platte community. Her phone was last traced near Romeo Hargrave City Park on the day she went missing, but the signal was lost soon after.
Anyone with additional information about this case is urged to contact the Ville Platte Police Department at 337-363-1316 and ask for Sergeant Guillory.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
