Baton Rouge, LA (4/27/2023) – The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) Homicide Detectives arrested Gerald McDowell, 29, Thursday, April 27, 2023, for allegedly shooting his sisters, killing one sister and critically injuring the 27-year old sister.
Kevineisha McDowell, 18, was identified by the coroner as the deceased sister.
The shooting occurred after the siblings verbally argued at a family gathering on April 24, 2023.
The 27-year-old victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
McDowell was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 1st Degree Murder, Attempt 1st Degree Murder, and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
