Sabine Parish, LA (June 10, 2024) – Authorities from both Texas and Louisiana are actively searching for a missing fisherman in the Sabine Parish area. Sheriff Aaron Mitchell reported that a Texas man departed from Huxley Bay, Texas, located on the northwest corner of Toledo Bend Lake, on Saturday evening, June 8, 2024, in a small aluminum boat.
The fisherman has not been seen or heard from since his departure, prompting concern from family and friends.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and Texas Parks & Wildlife are currently conducting a coordinated search operation focusing on the northern part of Toledo Bend Lake. Both agencies are utilizing all available resources to locate the missing individual, including boats, sonar equipment, and aerial support.
Sheriff Mitchell has urged anyone with information regarding the missing fisherman’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the search efforts.
“We are doing everything we can to find this individual and bring him back safely,” Sheriff Mitchell said. “We appreciate the cooperation and support from both Texas and Louisiana authorities in this critical operation.”
Authorities request that anyone who might have seen the missing fisherman or has any information related to his disappearance contact the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately.
