Alexandria, LA (8/20/2024) – On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at approximately 3:54 PM, the Alexandria Police Department responded to an attempted robbery and shots fired incident at a local business on South MacArthur Drive.
The suspect, a juvenile armed with a handgun, entered the business and attempted to rob an employee of merchandise, including firearms.
During the attempted robbery, the juvenile suspect fired a shot into a gun case. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Veterans Drive. The Alexandria Police Department detained the juvenile, and charges are currently pending.
