ALEXANDRIA, La. (6/24/2025) – On June 21, 2025, around 11:40 PM, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary alarm on New York Avenue.
They arrived at the 5600 block and discovered damaged paneling where someone appeared to have entered the building unlawfully.
Deputies and Alexandria Police officers searched the building. However, they found no suspects inside at that time.
Sheriff’s Detectives launched a burglary investigation and quickly gathered a description of the suspect vehicle.
Shortly afterward, Alexandria Police located the vehicle in the Martin Park subdivision.
As the officer approached, the driver—identified as Zahir Ammere Quinney—fled the scene on foot and escaped.
Meanwhile, two passengers, Michael Francis Bayonne Sr., 46, and Diane Marie Evans, 27, were arrested without incident.
Detectives recovered multiple stolen items from the vehicle, linking the suspects to the reported burglary.
Bayonne and Evans were booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on various charges.
Bayonne remains in jail on a 12,000 dollar bond and a parole violation.
Evans is held on an 11,000 dollar bond and a probation violation.
However, Quinney is still at large. Authorities are urging the public to share any information about his whereabouts.
