Armed and Dangerous: Man Wanted for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in Alexandria, LA

Alexandria, LA (9/13/2024) – The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) is searching for Garyson Ellias Copper, also known as “Skipp.”

Copper is wanted for two counts of attempted 2nd degree murder. Authorities urge the public to consider Copper armed and dangerous.

Copper, a 23-year-old male, stands 5’11” tall and weighs 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, along with several tattoos. His last known address is 1734 Shannon Road, Alexandria, LA.

At approximately 10 AM, RPSO SWAT Deputies, along with Alexandria Police officers, were in the Shannon Road area of Cherokee Village. They were assisting in the search related to a shooting earlier this week. Schools in the area, including Brame Junior High and Cherokee Elementary, were put on soft lockdown as a precaution. However, officials have confirmed that there is no current threat to the public.

UrbanCast received multiple reports about the heavy police presence in the Shannon Road area, just off Prescott Road. Parents of students expressed concerns due to the lockdown.

Copper is believed to be traveling in a tan 2015 Buick Encore with Louisiana license plate 183EXP. If you see him or the vehicle, contact the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-473-6700, the Alexandria Police Department at 318-441-6442, or Crime Stoppers at 318-443-7867.

RPSO continues its search, urging anyone with information to report it. Copper should not be approached under any circumstances.
