Richland Parish, La. (4/12/2026) – A 66-year-old Alexandria woman died following a single-vehicle crash in Richland Parish on Wednesday evening.
Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating the crash shortly after 6:00 p.m. on April 8. The incident happened on Interstate 20 just west of Louisiana Highway 609 near Dunn.
According to the initial investigation, a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling westbound on I-20. At some point, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Natalie Phillips, a front seat passenger, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was properly restrained at the time of the crash.
The driver, who was also properly restrained, sustained minor injuries.
Troopers collected routine toxicology samples as part of the investigation. Those results are pending.
The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
State Police continue to stress the importance of safe driving. Drivers should avoid impairment, distractions, and fatigue while on the road.
