Alexandria, LA (11/20/2024) – An Alexandria woman arrested for second-degree murder is at the center of a homicide investigation involving her 2-year-old daughter.
Alexandria Police Department officers responded to the 2500 block of Loblolly Lane on November 11, 2024, after a report of a child in medical distress.
The child, identified as Jainae Lotts, was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office ordered an autopsy and began a joint investigation with Alexandria police into the circumstances of her death.
Following the investigation, police arrested 24-year-old Camry Lotts, the child’s mother, on November 18, 2024. Lotts faces one count of second-degree murder in connection with the case.
