Alexandria, LA (11/22/2023) – The Rapides Parish Sherriff’s Office reported two people were injured in a shooting on Woodlawn Drive.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at approximately 11 PM, Deputies responded to a report of multiple gunshots fired in the 2800 block of Woodlawn Dr. just outside the City limits of Alexandria. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Shell casings were found in the roadway.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance, where they are currently being treated for their injuries.
Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the scene throughout the night. Detectives continue to conduct their investigation and are currently taking statements from witnesses and processing evidence at the scene. Sheriff’s Detectives are asking the public for their assistance in this investigation.
