Alexandria, LA (1/14/2024) – On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at around 8:08 PM, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) swiftly responded to a distressing call reporting shots fired in the 500 block of Solomon Street.
Moments later, two individuals, both suffering from gunshot wounds, sought medical attention at Rapides RegionalMedical Center.
During APD’s initial investigation related to the incident, a search of a vehicle uncovered suspected marijuana and a firearm. 18-year-old Xavier Walker from Pineville, LA, now faces one count of Possession of CDS I with intent and has been booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
Witnesses described the incident as chaotic, with one resident stating, “It was so many shots… It was louder than my surround sound. And I’m several blocks away from this location.”
Another Facebook Supporter expressing concern, comment emphasized the perceived increase in crime in the area, saying, “Prayers for Alexandria! The crime is out of control. It’s bad everywhere but for the size of this town, it’s way too bad.”
