ALEXANDRIA, LA (8/19/2025) – The Alexandria Senior High School Marine Corps JROTC has earned the prestigious Naval Honor School designation, placing it among the top MCJROTC units in the nation.
The recognition highlights achievement in academics, competition, and community service.
More than 30 percent of cadets maintained A/B Honor Roll for the entire academic year, underscoring the program’s strong focus on academic success. Beyond the classroom, cadets collectively contributed 743 volunteer hours across 23 community events, showcasing their commitment to serving Central Louisiana.
In competition, the program excelled with over 70 trophies earned during the year. Both the Armed Drill Team, known as the Blue Knights, and the Unarmed Drill Team, called the Phoenix, captured state championships. The unit also hosted its second annual All Service Drill Meet, known as the “Central Louisiana Maneuvers,” which reinforced its leadership role in the regional military education community.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Terry Hall praised cadets and the network of support that drives their success. He credited parents, guardians, faculty, and administrators for helping cadets balance academics, service, and competition. Hall emphasized that academics remain the top priority, allowing cadets to grow into well-rounded leaders with skills that extend far beyond high school.
The Naval Honor School designation is awarded annually to MCJROTC units that meet the highest standards of performance. This recognition reflects the dedication of Alexandria Senior High School’s cadets, instructors, and the supportive community that continues to guide their success.
