Alexandria, La. – Rapides Parish Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 22-year-old Alexandria man accused of committing sexual crimes against a juvenile.
On July 3, 2025, detectives received a report of alleged criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile victim. They immediately began investigating the complaint.
Detectives interviewed the victim at the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center. Their investigation quickly identified Jaylen Rayshawn Patterson of Pineville as the primary suspect.
Investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for Patterson. The warrant listed two counts of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and two counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.
On July 10, 2025, Rapides detectives, assisted by Grant Parish deputies, located Patterson at a Hooper Road residence in Grant Parish.
Deputies took Patterson into custody without incident. The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office booked him into their detention center as a Louisiana fugitive.
On July 11, 2025, authorities transported Patterson to Rapides Parish Detention Center. He was booked on the active warrants and later released on a $20,000 bond.
Detectives emphasized the investigation remains active and ongoing. They also stated more arrests could occur as the case develops.
