Alexandria MacArthur Drive shooting: police confirm one injured

Alexandria, La. (3/10/2026) — The Alexandria Police Department has confirmed that one person was injured in a shooting Monday evening in the 3900 block of MacArthur Drive.

According to an official release from the Alexandria Police Department, officers responded to the area at approximately 7:27 p.m. on March 9 in reference to a shooting. One individual was injured and transported to a local hospital.

UrbanCast first reported the incident Monday evening after receiving multiple witness reports of shots fired near the intersection of Lee Street and South MacArthur Drive. The report was published shortly after witnesses began contacting UrbanCast around the time officers were responding to the scene.

Witnesses told UrbanCast they heard several gunshots in the area near Speedy Pete’s, McDonald’s, and the Valero gas station. Photos and accounts from the scene showed a large law enforcement presence as officers from the Alexandria Police Department and Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office secured the area.

Crime scene tape was observed stretching from Speedy Pete’s toward the rear of the Valero property along Lakeside Drive as officers canvassed the area.

Witness Reported

Several witnesses reported that a vehicle was in the McDonald’s drive-thru line when two individuals approached and fired multiple shots into the vehicle. Witnesses said four people were inside the car. One person was reportedly injured while the others appeared to be unharmed.

Those witness accounts have not been confirmed by law enforcement.

Police have not released additional details about possible suspects or what may have led to the shooting.
