Historic Season

The meet marked the close of a historic season for Alexandria Senior High’s MCJROTC unit, which earned over 75 trophies this school year and secured its fourth consecutive state drill championship.

The unit is led by Master Gunnery Sergeant Terry Hall, a 1992 ASH graduate and retired U.S. Marine Corps E-9. Hall was a member of the school’s first state championship drill team in 1990 and now mentors cadets on the very drill pad where he once competed.

Colonel Willus Hall, Chief of Staff for the Louisiana National Guard, delivered an encouraging address to the cadets, emphasizing discipline, service, and future leadership.

The event was made possible by the support of participating schools, event judges, community partners, and volunteers. Organizers are already preparing to welcome teams back next year for what promises to be an even larger and more competitive drill meet.
