Albertsons Companies has voluntarily expanded a recall of select tuna salad products sold at its Albertsons, Randalls, and Tom Thumb stores across Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas due to the risk of Listeria monocytogenescontamination.
The recall, announced July 26 and posted to the FDA website July 28, includes multiple ready-to-eat items containing tuna salad supplied by Reser’s Fine Foods. The issue stems from a recall of an ingredient—breadcrumbs—used in the tuna salad and potentially contaminated with Listeria.
Affected items were sold under various UPCs and include individual meals, snack trays, sandwiches, and platters with sell-by dates ranging from July 23 to July 29, 2025. A full list of affected items, UPCs, and product sizes is available below.
As of this report, no illnesses or injuries have been linked to the recalled products.
Health Risk
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious infections in young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include high fever, severe headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages or stillbirths.
The FDA urges anyone who purchased these products to not consume them, and instead dispose of or return them to the store for a full refund. Surfaces and containers that may have come in contact with the product should be sanitized thoroughly.
