Natchitoches, LA (7/25/2024) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) is investigating an early morning shooting that occurred on Lakeview Drive.
On July 25, 2024, around 4:01 a.m., officers with the NPD responded to the 400 block of Lakeview Drive following reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers found several bullet casings on the road and observed property damage to both a vehicle and a residence.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division were called to the scene and collected over twenty bullet casings from the roadway. Detectives and officers spoke with several witnesses and conducted a thorough search for additional evidence. The bullet casings will be sent to the crime lab for further analysis and ballistics testing.
Fortunately, none of the residents inside the apartment were struck by the gunfire.
This investigation is ongoing, and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
