Livingston Parish, LA (7/23/2023) – Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) reported a 67-year-old Livingston man was shot and killed; the suspect is in custody.
LPSO Deputies and Albany Police Department (APD) were dispatched to the Tourist Information Center located on Catholic Hall Rd in Albany around 4 pm Saturday, July 22, 2023, in reference to a shooting.
Barry Rousesel, 67, of Ponchatoula, was identified as the victim by LPSO Deputies after the family was notified.
Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘At this time, we have determined this to be a domestic-related incident. Details remain under investigation. Medical officials confirm one male has died from his injuries.”
Edward Paul Louque, 68, of Walker, Louisiana, was arrested on the charge of second-degree murder and was booked in the Livingston Parish Detention Center
This incident happened within the city limits of Albany. The sheriff confirms the LPSO is working jointly with Albany PD on the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
