Opelousas, La. (10/27/2022) – A 23-year-old man was arrested for the Academy Street Murder, according to the Opelousas Police Department (OPD).
Easton Shelvin Jr. of Opelousas, 23, was arrested for his involvement in the mid-after shooting of Ryan’Trayvian Darby, 20, of Abbeville, Louisiana.
According to the OPD Darby was shot and killed in broad daylight at the 100 Block of South Academy St. on October 22, 2022, at about 2:40 pm.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
