18-year-old murder suspect taken into custody

Tangipahoa Parish, LA. (9/27/2022) – According to Chief Jimmy Travis, deputies arrested a man suspected of a home invasion in which a man was killed and his 12-year-old daughter was left shot multiple times.

Omarion Hookfin, the suspect, identified on September 12, 2022, for the murder of Donte Perry and the shooting of Perry’s 12-year-old daughter, was taken into custody this morning and was transported to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, where he was booked on all outstanding charges associated with the incident, to include:
(1) count First Degree Murder
(2) counts Attempted First Degree Murder
(1) count Armed Robbery
(2) counts of Aggravated Kidnapping

Detectives wish to thank all those who provided information about his identification and capture.

Hammond, LA (9/22/2022) – Chief Jimmy Travis is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 18-year-old Omarion Hookfin of Hammond, Louisiana, in connection with the September 12, 2022, home invasion on Rufus Bankston Road, which claimed the life of 32-year-old Donte Perry. During the incident, Perry’s 12-year-old daughter was critically wounded from several gunshot wounds.

Hookfin is currently wanted for multiple warrants, to include:
(1) count First Degree Murder
(2) counts Attempted First Degree Murder
(1) count Armed Robbery
(2) counts Aggravated Kidnapping
