13 People Shot, 2 Dead in Mass Shooting Near Maxton, North Carolina

Robeson County, NC (October 25, 2025) – The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a mass shooting that left two people dead and eleven others injured late Saturday night near Maxton, North Carolina.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a large gathering on Dixon Drive near McGirt Gin Road just outside of Maxton.

Upon arrival, officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. In total, thirteen individuals were shot, with two confirmed fatalities and several others listed in critical condition.

Sheriff Burnis Wilkins confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time, but said the incident appears to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community.

“This is a tragic and senseless act of violence,” Sheriff Wilkins said in a statement. “Our investigators are working diligently with multiple assisting agencies to identify everyone involved and bring those responsible to justice.”

Authorities estimate that more than 150 people fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the shooting or who was present at the event, to contact investigators at 910-671-3100.

The investigation remains active, and more updates will be provided as information becomes available.
