Alexandria, LA (7/9/2024) – The LSUA Department of Allied Health proudly announces a 100% first-time pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam by the recent Radiologic Technology (Rad Tech) graduating class of 2024.
LSUA’s 100% first-time pass rate is an exceptional marker of the program’s quality, considering the national average first-time pass rate is 83.5%. LSUA’s Rad Tech program has graduated 22 classes since 2002.
LSUA is regionally accredited through SACSCOC, which is an approved accrediting body by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree prepares students for careers as radiologic technologists and radiographers. Radiographers are highly skilled professionals who perform X-ray procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. LSUA students are prepared for a variety of employment opportunities inside hospitals, surgery centers, private offices, imaging centers, and urgent care centers.
The Rad Tech program is growing, having accepted the largest class to date with 20 students entering the program this coming fall. Our students are answering the call to learn, get certified, and enter high-demand allied health jobs that are critical to the health of the local community.
Jeff Langston, LSUA Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, said: “Having a 100% first-time pass rate is indicative of the hard work and dedication of our program faculty and leadership. The Rad Tech team has refocused our efforts on supporting students from day one on campus and ensuring they have the resources they need to be better prepared before they ever enter the program. This has proven effective with our strongest class of applicants ever, which will translate into consistently strong outcomes for our students.”
