Thursday, temperatures will be on the rise on strengthening southerly winds. This is ahead of an approaching potent cold front from the northwest. Showers will generally begin spreading eastward throughout the late morning, with some storms arriving in northwest Texas counties in the early afternoon. High temperatures in the mid to upper 70s are expected, along with southerly winds 15 to 25 MPH with some gusts to 35 MPH.
