Ferriday, LA (May 9, 2024) – Following a cybercrime investigation initiated in January 2023 by the CPSO Cyber Crime Unit, a truck driver was arrested for allegedly soliciting minors online for sexual encounters.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, using multiple online accounts and platforms, engaged in explicit conversations with minors while posing as a truck driver from Texas who frequently traveled through Louisiana.
Despite efforts to conceal his identity, the suspect was identified as Albert Douglas Bingham, a 48-year-old Canadian citizen from Coaldale, Alberta. Warrants were issued for his arrest and entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
In April 2024, Canadian Customs Agents provided information leading to Bingham’s arrest upon his arrival in the United States. He has been booked into the CPSO jail and faces charges of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles.
Authorities remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and encourage anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
