If you happen to be awake at the ungodly hour of 3:09 AM to 6:49 AM tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, you’ll have an opportunity to witness what is being called the “beaver blood moon lunar eclipse” which sounds more like a Halloween ritual than a celestial event.
NASA needs to work on its naming convention for these things. Anyway, totality will occur at 4:59 AM, but the moon will sink below the horizon in our part of the world before the eclipse ends. That is, provided another round of fog doesn’t put a damper on the show.
