Six buildings were evacuated, and three people were treated after coming into contact with flyers

Baton Rouge, La. (11/21/2022) – According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD), around 10 AM, three workers at the Investar Bank on Coursey Boulevard went to the hospital after coming in contact with flyers that were left in a night dropbox at the bank.

Six buildings were evacuated, and five buildings were cleared and reopened.

HazMat crews were brought out to investigate out of “an abundance of caution,” BRFD spokesman Curt Monte said. The Baton Rouge Fire Department said they found nothing with their equipment, but the FBI is sending evidence off for further testing.

No details were released about what specifically caused the individuals to get sick.
