Shreveport, LA (11/27/2023) – According to the Caddo Parish Clerk of Court, Henry L Whitehorn has been elected as the Caddo Parish Sherif by one vote.
John Nickelson requested a recount after Whitehorn won the runoff on November 14th.
Note each candidate gained three additional votes in the recount on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Whitehorn will be Caddo’s first Black Sheriff.
Nickelson immediately filed a lawsuit for a new runoff election after Monday’s recount of ballots resulted in no change of Whitehorn being elected the winner by one vote.
