Rapides Parish, LA (3/1/20230) – Tuesday was the night to be a high school basketball fan in Rapides as multiple Rapides teams saw playoff action Tuesday night in basketball.
The boys’ teams from Ash, Bolton, and Oak Hill all gave gallant efforts but came up just short in their quest to bring back the state title. While they may not have accomplished their ultimate goal, they made their school and community proud because giving everything you got at a mission is what it is all about. You can live with the results.
5 Rapides teams advanced to the next round. The Northwood Lady Gators were dominant in their victory. The Lady Gators crushed Hamilton Christian 63-39 in the Division IV semifinal game. Nakiyah Allen leads the scoring for Northwood. Allen secured a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Northwood Boy Gators won as well, defeating Cedar Creek 83 – 50.
The Pineville Boy Rebels defeated St. Paul’s 65 – 61. The Rebels will play St. Thomas More on Friday, March 3rd.
Rapides Mustangs defeated our own Oak Hill. The Mustangs move to play Plainview at Rapides on March 3rd.
The boys of Peabody did what we all expected them to do, if we are being honest. I mean, no pressure on the kids or that old savy Coach of theirs, but if they don’t win it all, then it’s unexpected. Man, Coach Smith, you set that bar high!!! Amazing!!!. Peabody Boys will play St. Michael the Archangel on Friday at Peabody.
Congratulations, and Let’s go to all teams and go get our community some championships!!!
