Morgan City, LA (1/21/2024) – Rosezina Moore, a 34-year-old resident of Apple Street, Morgan City, finds herself arrested on multiple charges following a disturbing incident involving THC Gummies and a 2-year-old child.
The arrest, executed by the Morgan City Police Department (MCPD), encompasses a range of offenses including Second Degree Cruelty to Juveniles, Failure to Seek Assistance, Obstruction of Justice, and more.
The incident unfolded on January 17, 2024, around 2:05 a.m., when officers responded to an overdose report in the Apple Street area. Upon arrival, medical personnel were already attending to the situation.
According to reports, the victim, a 2-year-old child, had accessed and ingested multiple THC Gummies while Moore, the caregiver, was asleep. When the child experienced a medical episode, Moore allegedly delayed seeking assistance for up to two hours in an attempt to conceal evidence. Subsequent investigation of the residence uncovered suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and additional THC products.
The child was transported to a local medical facility and is currently in stable condition. Moore, on the other hand, was taken into custody and transported to the Morgan City Jail, where she faces charges related to the incident. Additionally, it was discovered that she had active warrants for her arrest from the Thibodaux Police Department for traffic offenses.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
